The 2025 European Conference on Optics for Solar Energy reviews current trends and recent developments in optics and photonics for solar energy conversion. It covers various aspects such as fundamental optical concepts, light management, quantum dots and other luminescent materials, spectral-conversion materials, modelling, device design, fabrication technologies, and characterization. The covered applications range from single-junction and multi-junction solar cells, the optics of photovoltaic modules, to aesthetic considerations for solar energy installations in both urban and rural environments. Furthermore, submissions on energy-yield calculations, potentially with complex illumination conditions, as well as thermal management aspects including radiative cooling are highly welcome. This conference builds on the success of the Berlin-based Workshops on Optics for Solar Energy, organized since 2015, and is part of the Photonics Days Berlin Brandenburg, hosted by OptecBB. The goal is bring to together a vibrant, international community to explore the latest advancements in the field of optics for solar energy.
